The Blue Rose pattern is created through Okura Art China's proprietary and highly refined technique. Following the initial firing of the fine white porcelain, cobalt pigment is meticulously applied by hand, and the piece is then fired once again at the exceptional temperature of approximately 1,460°C (2,660°F). This remarkable process allows the cobalt pigment to fuse directly with the glaze itself, becoming an integral part of the porcelain rather than merely resting upon its surface.
As a result, unlike conventional overglaze decoration, the blue possesses a unique depth, transparency, and luminosity, creating the impression that the color emerges from within the porcelain itself.
